Kamikouchi is one of the best alps resort in Japan, called “the Japan Alps” which located in Nagano prefecture. It is a scenic highland basin above 1,500 meters sea level. Since it has great nature with tradition, It is popular not only for Japanese but also for international tourists. It is difficult to access since there is a restriction about access with a private car and no train station near Kamikouchi. But we make a sample itinerary which included below sightseeing spots. Kamikouchi, Nikko, Hakone, Takayama, Kanazawa, Shirakawa-gou.

Day1 Tokyo-Kanazawa (stay at Kanazawa)
It takes about 3 hours to get Kanazawa from Tokyo by a bullet train. Kanazawa is one of the popular city for tourists.
Day2 Kanazawa: Sightseeing in Kanazawa (stay at Kanazawa)
There are many places to see in Kanazawa. You can see kanazawa castle, Kenroku-en (Japanese garden), old street and so on.
Day3 Kanazawa: Sightseeing in Kanazawa (stay at Kanazawa)
There is a fish market in Kanazawa. You can eat fresh food as breakfast.
Day4 Noto: Kanazawa-Noto(a day trip)(stay at Kanazawa)
You can go to Noto Peninsula as a day trip. You can go Wakura Onsen as a day trip (stay overnight is preferable) Wakura Onsen is a hot spring resort with a 1,200-year history, which is located near Nanao Bay on the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture. Blessed with an abundance of hot water, fresh foods from the ocean and mountains, there are many ryokans built along the seaside and they attracts more than one million visitors every year. Among these ryokans, Kagaya is consistently ranked among Japan’s best ryokans for its excellent service and facilities.
Day5 Takayama: Kanazawa-Shirakawa gou-Takayama (stay at Takayama)
From Kanazawa-Shirakawa gou-Takayama, you can go by Nouhi-bus (local bus). In Shirakawa-gou (a village), you can see unique houses among a valley. It is listed on UNESCO Japan’s World heritage sights. In winter, all houses and ground covered with snow.
Day6 Takayama: Sightseeing in Takayama (stay at Takayama)
Takayama is a nice old town. It is small but the street in Takayama has unique atmosphere and see old houses.
Day7 Takayama: Sightseeing in Takayama (stay at Takayama)

You can go to Shin-hotaka ropeway for a day trip from Takayama. Shin-hotaka ropeway is in Chūbu-Sangaku National Park.
Day8 Kamikouchi: Takayama-Kamikouchi (stay at Kamikouchi)
Kamikouchi is belongs to Chubu Sangaku National Park and is designated as a Special National Monument. Especially famous are the wooden suspension bridge known as Kappabashi on the Azusa River, and Taisho Pond.
You can go to Kamikouchi by local bus or taxi. If you get a local bus, you need to change bus at Hirayu Bus station and get another bus bound for Kamikouchi bus terminal. Kamikouchi is very beautiful places among with mountains. Fresh air & nature makes you refresh. You need to prepare some extra clothes for changeable mountain temperature.
Note: Kamikouchi is open from mid-April(27th April) to mid-November(Second Sunday in Nov. ) only. During the winter, all shops, hotels and other facilities are closed.

Day9 Kamikouchi-Tokyo (by bus) (stay at Tokyo)
From Kamikouchi to Tokyo (Shinjuku Bus Terminal), there is a direct bus operating one time per day.
Day10 Tokyo:Sightseeing in Tokyo (stay at Tokyo)
Tokyo is a capital city. You can enjoy shopping and also there are a lot of beautiful parks (Shinjuku Gyoen, Rikugien, and so on)
Day11 Nikko: Tokyo-Nikko (a day trip) (stay at Tokyo)
Nikko is one of the popular city for sightseeing. Nikko is belong to Nikkō National Park. You can touch with nature (Kegon water fall) and Japanese shrine, Tosho-gu.
Day12 Hakone: Tokyo-Hakone (a day trip) (stay at Tokyo)
Hakone is belong to Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. You can see Mt.Fuji (weather permitted) and soak into hot spring. Also, it has an old “gate” (Sekisho) is remained from Edo period.
Day13 Kamakura: Tokyo-Kamakura (a day trip) (stay at Tokyo)
Kamakura is similar to Nara, because you can see Buddha, too. But there is totally different era and it is very interesting to see its history
